Significant First For You

Postby jamangie » Tue Mar 09, 2010 12:18 pm

Good Morning All what a fantastic day, the sun has got his hat on and he’s definitely out to play, as we speak I am sitting out on the patio for the first time this year drinking decaf tea and loving it, no ciggies in site so this is another first for me and just what we all require to warm our hearts and toesies LOL
What is your memory of a quite significant first (keep it clean LOL) for you as in after stopping smoking, of course.

Mine will definitely be in 2 weeks time because it will become the benchmark day where i'll have acheived the longest quit i've ever done, and will continue to add to that day-by-day.

Other than that, significant firsts i've had are sitting in a room full of heavy smokers and not once complaining, nor making out to be that horrible ex-smoker who cough-coughs at them. each to their own.. i choose life.

My very very best though is more of a significant NEVER because my daughter now will not remember me ever smoking, and that to me is the best possible reward for my effort i could ask for.

In the summer i'm looking forward to going for walks with my daughter and OH too, and when i smoked i used to smoke 3 or 4 just walking around the woods.. it will be nice to do all that again not smoking.. i did a few walks last august, but this time be even better.

There were a few 1sts which were kind of strange:-

1st long drive.
1st Christmas. (Partly because mum died one Xmas)
1st night out with the lads.
1st holiday.
1st time I was sat waiting for someone that was going to be late.
